Hey Kiddies!
So it's been quite some time since I've posted anything. I've been busy at work learning a whole lot and seeing how far I have to still go. Luckily I've got some great people to learn from!
This is a piece based off of a sketch that I had to do to get my job. As you can see the topic was super cool, a steampunk elf! So I did some silhouette studies and was told which one to choose from there and then went to a simple sketch line drawing. Anyways it was super fun to do and luckily I got the job! Still, I always wanted to paint it up so here it is!
This took three months to do because I'd get busy and would work on other stuff but finally it's finished! Total time was just shy of 16 hours. Painted in Photoshop CS4 with my Wacom Intous A4 Tablet.

Trespassers: Revised
Hey everyone! I've just uploaded my updated version of "Trespassers". I got some very good advice and critiques from some people I really admire that have been helping me out for over a year now. Anyways, with their critiques I decided to do a little moving around of things (mainly the dragon) and some paint-overs (the elf's face so that the lighting would be more accurate and the dragon, fixing some tangents). Anyways, I think it actually looks a lot better!
Take care and have a very Merry Christmas!

Trespassers
So here's a piece that I've been working on and off on for the past two weeks or so when I've had time. I would say that it's probably my most ambitious painting thus far; this is due mainly to the fact that I wanted to have several characters in the painting along with a more defined background. Hence what you see here
Anyways this took about 35 1/2 hours to complete, something I'm happy about as that means that I am speeding up on my paintings (believe it or not
). Created in Photoshop CS4. Hope you enjoy!

Professional Work, Final Crimson Cloak Posts, and a quick speed painting

Here's some of my first professional work that I've created. This was done for the company World Leaderz ([link]), specifically their Mighty Heroes Collectible Trading Cards. They're biblicaly based and it was an interesting project to work on. Hope you enjoy!
Also I'm posting the final of my Crimson Cloak illustrations. I had to rush some of these last ones, so not my most favorite work but sometimes that has to happen right lol? For those of you that don't know it's part of my final project for my demo reel, a sort of motion comic. Enjoy!
And finally a quick little speed painting I did, about 1.5 hrs in Photoshop CS4. I don't do much background work so I wanted to experiment a little more and build up my portfolio on that end. Hope you enjoy!

God of War: Kratos

Here's a little something that I've been working on since April, just on and off usually as a warm up before painting. Anyways, I've finally finished it! This was something that I did mainly to practice a little more painterly style, similar to Marko Djurdjevic. I'm also a really big fan of Daryl Mandryk so I really wanted to add some interesting texture to the edges and such so that it would be reminiscent to him. Anyways this took about 6 hours to complete all together. Hope you enjoy!

Crimson Cloak Illustrations

So here are some illustrations that I am currently working on for one of my portfolio classes. We need to create a 30 second story that emphasizes our strengths for our final demo reel. Ultimately this piece will be like a motion comic, with moving illustrations. These are my illustrations thus far, although they are just character shots for right now. The backgrounds will come later on, probably next quarter but for now this is what I have. Hope you enjoy and I'll go into detail with the story later on in future posts. Cheers!

The Creature From The Black Lagoon Turntable
Here's a turntable which I just created of my recent sculpture in ZBrush. Hope you enjoy!
Elf Rider

Here's a piece that I finished up in April of 2010 and simply have been too busy until now to upload it. I actually sold a print of this at Star Fest Denver 2010 (last month) and it even won first place in their Fantasy Art Category so I was pretty happy! Overall this picture took about 32 hours to complete and created entirely in Photoshop CS4. Enjoy!
The Creature From The Black Lagoon: ZBrush Sculpt

Here's a piece I just completed in ZBrush, my 3rd time sculpting in ZBrush and my first full body. This is a re-imagining of The Creature From The Black Lagoon and a duel project for both my Digital Sculpting and Production Team classes. Also it was sculpted entirely from ZSpheres, as I am a terrible traditional box/polygonal modeler.
I'm definitely looking forward to doing more digital sculpting and using it as a way to showcase concepts. I definitely learned alot from this project and intend to go about things differently in the future, especially in regards to the use of subtools and ZSpheres. Hope you enjoy!
